Do I need the books on the website?
Yes, you need these books because they help kids learn music! We picked these books because they have fun songs that kids love. Keeping music fun is super important!
- For Piano: If you’re just starting, you need the Thomson Part One book. Once you finish it,
you’ll need Part Two. - For Guitar: If you’re a beginner, you need the Guitar Basics Book One. It teaches you how to
play classical guitar, and you’ll see your fingers moving all over the guitar! - For Violin: If you’re starting the violin, you need ABRACADABRA Book One. It has great
information and is part of a series, so you can play with friends! - For Cello: If you’re new to the cello, you’ll also need ABRACADABRA Book One. It’s similar to
the violin book and has songs you can play with others.
What books are for Music Theory?
We have special books for both kids and adults to learn music theory. Most classes use the Theory of
Music Workbooks. You’ll work in these books with a pencil.
These books have exercises to help you understand everything, and there’s a practice exam at the
end to get you ready for real exams. Make sure to get the right Grade book before your class starts!
Should I buy the ABRSM Music Theory Book?
If you want to take the ABRSM Music Theory exam, it’s a good idea to talk to your teacher about
when to buy this book.
What are the Hours With the Masters Books?
These books have famous piano songs and are great for students who have passed a few exams.
They start at Grade 3 and go up.
Can I buy my own books to learn?
Yes, we encourage you to find books and songs you like! Just make sure they are at the right level for
you. The books we suggest are part of our lessons to help you reach your goals and pass exams.
Your teacher is happy to use other songs in your lessons, but you’ll still need to follow the main
course.
Are there books available for Adults?
Yes, there are special lessons for adults!
Adults often want to play music without reading it, so lessons are more flexible. You can choose
songs you want to learn, and your teacher will help you with them. If you want to follow the full
curriculum, that’s okay too!
