Student Code of Conduct

Introduction

Fox Music School has specific formal requirements regarding student conduct. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected
behaviour and is designed to ensure a respectful and productive learning environment.

Compliance with Code and Regulations

Students must adhere to the provisions outlined in this Code of Conduct and the Student and Academic Regulations.
Special attention is drawn to Section 7 of the Student Disciplinary Procedures, which details serious breaches of discipline.
Allegations of breaches or non-compliance will be addressed according to these procedures.

Conduct and Participation
  1. Students must not engage in behaviour that hinders the effective provision of their course, regardless of where
it is delivered. Students are expected to attend punctually, cooperate with staff in maintaining class registers,
    and submit work as required.
  2. Students must not obstruct or disrupt any meeting or lawful assembly within the School. They must comply with
the School’s Code of Practice on Freedom of Speech and Lawful Assembly.
Respectful Behaviour

The School promotes a supportive and respectful environment for all individuals associated with the School. Bullying,
harassment, and intimidating behaviour are strictly prohibited. Students experiencing such behaviour should consult
the School’s Harassment Policy. Disciplinary action will be taken against those engaging in such behaviour.

Use of Facilities

Food and drink may only be consumed in authorized areas. Consumption in teaching rooms, lecture theatres, studios,
libraries, or specialist workshops is prohibited.

Use of School Name

Students must not exhibit work or seek sponsorship using the School’s name without prior consent from a School staff
member, who must obtain permission from the School Administration.

Noise and Disturbance

Students must avoid creating excessive noise or disturbances that may cause discomfort, inconvenience, or annoyance to others.
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a reasonable and orderly manner at all times.

Integrity of School Records

Students must not forge, falsify, or misuse any School record or document, including headed paper.

Removal of Work

Students must not remove work from School exhibitions without prior written consent from a School staff member.

Enrolment and Attendance
  1. Students are responsible for ensuring correct registration for their course and attendance on the designated days and times. Failure to be registered means no study, assessment submission, or credit will be awarded.
  2. Late enrolment is possible only within two weeks (or exceptionally four weeks) of the study block’s start, provided:
    1. It has been agreed upon by the School or booked in advance through the School’s website.
    2. The grounds for late enrolment are deemed appropriate by the School.
    3. The teacher confirms that there is a reasonable expectation that the student can catch up.
    4. The student accepts responsibility for catching up and acknowledges that approval of a later start cannot be used as grounds for appeal or complaint.
  3. Failure to re-enrol may result in an assumption of withdrawal from the School and consideration for any interim qualification at the next Assessment Board.
  4. Late payment may also lead to withdrawal. If a late payment is anticipated, students should provide ample notice to avoid forfeiting their slot to a waiting list member.
  5. Students must notify the School of any changes to their name or address, including email. Incorrect details may cause issues with certificate issuance.
Attendance Requirements
  1. Students are required to attend all scheduled sessions in accordance with the Academic Engagement Monitoring Policy.
  2. Absence from the School for a consecutive period of three to four weeks may impact the ability to meet academic demands. Inconsistent attendance may result in:
    1. Intermittence.
    2. Withdrawal.
    3. Invocation of the Health, Wellbeing & Support for Study policy.
  3. The School maintains a 100% pass rate record and will not allow students to sit exams without adequate preparation, to avoid negative outcomes for both the student and the School.
